I just got Oblivion for the pc and I started playing it and, this is kind of embarrassing, but I can't exit dialogue. I've pressed like every button, it's not frozen I just can't do it, I don't play pc games, normally lol... :facepalm:

p.s. I haven't found a thread like this (probably because it should be obvious) but I apologize if it already exists.

I haven't played Oblivion on pc for a while, but i'm pretty sure that just hitting the escape key exits dialogue. I'm sure you've already tried this, but w/e

There should be a little X button down at the bottom of the dialogue menu. That is the "goodbye" dialogue exit button.

Move the cursor to the small box with an 'x' in it and click.

That just opened the pause menu.

I noticed that on the xbox version all the time but it was never click-able and I saw it then and I just ignored it because I thought it was useless. I feel stupid, lol.

S'ok. Drove me nuts at first, because it doesn't look much like an "X".

Look at http://depts.washington.edu/critgame/08w_chid496d/modules/avatars_wow_v_oblivion/7_tes4_dialogue.jpg. The crisscross button at the bottom left of menu closes the dialogue menu and ends the conversation. Are you not able to press that button?
