Klimmek

Post » Thu Aug 09, 2012 1:06 pm

I don't know why but i have a real protective thing going on with this dude. Every couple of weeks for god knows how long he treks all the way up to High Hrothgar out of the goodness of his heart to provide The Greybeards with supplies. He has never even laid eyes on them. I really wish there was a quest that directly related to this other than the current one. I wish we got to introduce him to the greybeards including paarthurnax so i could see his worn out face become more content.

Does anyone else share this sentiment either with Klimmek or another NPC?

Ah I though I'm the only one who have this in mind.
I agree with you. For some reason I saw Greybeards a bit rude to Klimmek. He brought them food, but they even do not want laid eyes on him. Poor Klimmek.

So when one of the Greybeards sneezes and blast Klimmek back to the Merethic Era will you still feel accomplished?

I think there should be a quest that allows him to learn a shout that teleports him to High Hrothgar so he can continue his chores :).

God (Talos) love Klimmek.

There's a reason he doesn't see the Greybeards, and that is that their voice could kill him. A simple 'hello nice to meet you' would tear him to pieces. As for Paarthurnax, a handshake could tear him to pieces.

Yeah I know this but there is always a way. My point is more to do with him as a character and that being developed. There is actually a possibility of a good story there and i feel that it needs capitalising on.

If you want to do Klimmek a favor, "side" with him during the Book of Love quest you pick up from the Temple of Mara in Riften. He's a good man, and deserves to be happy.

How does he not end up dead on his way up? It's not like there are ice wraiths and a troll on the way up there...

But only if they chose to speak to him instead of smiing and nodding politely. It's not like they have a reason to hurt him, so there's no reason to think they would use their voices to do so.

And at any rate Arngeir is perfectly capable of conversing with "ordinary" people without doing any damage. Also if just being in their presence were that risky the peace council wouldn't be held at High Hrothgar.

Unfortunately, I went with Bassianus because Fastred was desperate for some adventure. Now the two of them are wandering around in Riften without even a roof above their head. Does anyone know if there's a console command to hook her up with Klimmek? I'm really feeling with Fastred, being stuck with that cowardly bastard in that rathole of a city.

...Does anyone else share this sentiment...with Klimmek?

Personally, I don't trust him.
There's something rather not-quite-right about Klimmek.

Think about the clues:
- He's never seen the Greybeards
- But he knows they're peaceful
- Yet Klimmek fears them greatly
- Asked why he makes deliveries he says, 'Let's just say we have an arrangement...'
- The trek is dangerous
- He still agrees to make the trip
- Why? Think about it...

They're holding something over his head
The Greybeards are obviously using Klimmek. He has a shady past, they know about it, but will remain silent if he brings their supplies. This allows them to have no contact with the outside world. This is what they want. They're blackmailing Klimmek, pure and simple. Not wanting his previous deeds exposed, whatever they may be, Klimmek agrees to the deal and treks the steps for years on end. He is now older and not as physically able to make the climb.

Yet, so fearful of the Greybeards exposing his secret, Klimmek is willing to hand over crucial supplies to a total stranger? Seriously?
It just doesn't pass muster. Klimmek has a shady past. And it's apparently so shady that he'd risk weekly death, for years on end, rather than have it exposed.

^ THIS ^ is the Klimmek you wish to help and protect?? Have you really thought this through?
To each their own, I suppose. I prefer to ease his burdened conscience by planting my war axe in his shifty old forehead.
Good riddance.

Ondolemar, actually. One time I did his quest then killed him. Just before I did he mentioned something about me being a close friend. I got an inheritance a day later. Never been able to kill him since. He is a bro amongst Thalmor.
