Lack of skyforge steel blunt weapons

Post » Sun Jun 10, 2012 9:57 pm

I wanted one for Uthgerd the Unbroken. When I went to buy one from Eorlund Gray-Mane, and saw that he doesn't sell any, or rather it doesn't even exist at all, I was like "Y U NO MAKE SKYFORGE STEEL BLUNT WEAPONS?"

It would've been nice to have an insanely uber skyforge steel warhammer. Just sayin.

It is sad there are no blunt Skyforge or Ancient Nord weapons.

For Skyforge Steel I can actually make a somewhat logical argument. Skyforge Steel is sharper then regular steel therefor the sword cuts better etc. However a hammer has no cuttingedge so no Skyforge Steel Warhammer. As I said somewhat logical because it's not watertight :P

Well, the smith in Windhelm says the steel forged on the Skyforge holds tighter which means you can get more mass into a hammer and increase its impact.

Also the steel blunt weapons have small spike points(warhammer) or edges(mace) so sharper isn't a bad thing here either.

I'm pretty sure "holds tighter" just means "harder", not "more dense". I know skyforged steel is magical, but real steel is all the same density (give or take a small fractional percent), regardless of grade / alloy.

However, for blunt weapons, harder IS better. If the weapon surface deforms, that absorbs some of the force of the blow.

Then harder it is. Still better than regular steel though.
