Lance Armstrong lost all 7 Tour de France titels!

Post » Tue Oct 23, 2012 11:10 pm

Topic title says it. He finally quit to defend himself against all allegations. USADA gave him a lifetime ban for all competitions, and what is more important, all sports.

It's not that I always watched the Tour de France because of the bikers, but more because of the beautiful landscape. So I'm not very surprised and compassionate about what's happening to him.

I disliked the person from the very first beginning, as he always showed that stupid Joker grin of a confident impostor, when talking to the cameras.

I'm aware of the fact that the whole bike sport is infiltrated by doping, and other sports are probably too. But I can't denied the fact, I'm feeling a certain satisfaction and glee about how he gets treated right now.

I know you http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lance_Armstrong, I always did.

For most people he probably is.

Boy, losing all his titles is the least of his problems, having to face his family and friends is, in my view, the worst calamity.

I agree. His shame must be intolerable...or not...I'm quite sure his wife exactly knowed what he was doing. His kids probably also. He probably was like 'Everyone's doing it', which in fact is a right statement.

I'm waiting for the headline that an angry fan beat the **** out of him like he deserved it. Now that would be fun...:D

Wouldn't it be actually funny if Neil was on the moon, AND won the Tour de France seven times?

'Oh yeah Neil: 'A small step for me, but a giant step for mankind''

'Och, come one, shut up and take your EPO...it'll make you fly!'

How about actually including a link to the source material so we don't have to google for it?

Too bad for Armstrong because apart from all this mess, he seems like a nice down to earth guy. Btw, does anyone know if the trophies, or whatever will go to the second winner of those past races? What about the money?

If everyone in every sport was tested we'd be having more of this kind of news.

I'd like to see a clean and steroids section in sports. Although it wouldn't really work just like in bodybuilding, people still enter the wrong classes.

The sport as no credibility at all,I say they should embrace the drug culture in cycling and turn it into a road rash type affair.I would watch drug induced thugs hitting each other with chains.

The only way sports will be cleaned up is if using drugs is disincentiveized.

The only way to do that is stop paying athletes ridiculous amounts of money and stop fans from treating them like gods.

So it'll never happen.

I assume the trophies get passed to the second winner. Which, in some cases, would be http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jan_Ulrich, as he was transferred to do doping just after 2005.

I think the money will stay with Lance, unless the UCI strives for a lawsuit to get their money back.

I tend to agree, cases like Lance are only the tip of the iceberg in any sports.

If I was the "second winner", by God's wounds, I want the money instead of an used shiny trophy that my kid will probably sell at a garage sell anyways.

If you'd be the second winner, you'd be also the second one doping. So no money for you I assume.

Yeah, you can tell a lot about a mans character when watching how he acts and treats other people.

zoinks, you'd think he murdered some one by the way every one is reacting to this.

he may or may not be a cheater but this is certainly an unsportsmanlike way to handle a cheater.

It's obvious that the reason behind the severity of the penalty is to set an example, to deterred copy-cats. Like spies, they get penalized by the government like if they have murdered and violated 100 children.
