Laptop Jury-Rigging

Post » Wed Dec 25, 2013 11:39 pm

So, this is a bit strange, but I need to take the screen part of one laptop, and connect it to the keyboard part of another laptop. My question to those of you who know about the insides of laptops, is this even possible? Are there two wires I can splint together and "Voila"?

I'm a bit strapped for cash, and I have one laptop with a trashed screen and one with a trashed keyboard, both are too cheap to be worth getting fixed(or be afraid to experiment on) but valuable enough to me.

Just plug a monitor into the working-keyboard laptop and use the winkey+P to change presentation mode to the external screen after booting

Whether you can easily splice one's screen to another is luck of the draw as laptops are often quite proprietary.
