Latest Game Patch And Grafix Driver Update

Post » Mon May 14, 2012 10:15 pm

I bought Rage on day of release , 07/10/2011 ( friday ) installed the game and found the same problems as everyone else on here , I waited patiently for the Rage update from steam which I downloaded this morning , I also updated my grafix card drivers to the new catalyst and rage files for my card and I'm still having the same problem of squares and no detail to the back ground , I've even tried to adjust my settings in game to the following :- 1280 X 800 , AA 4X , Text Cache Large , V-sync Off and Anti Filter High , this doesnt fix the problem it makes it worst , I've uninstalled the Rage file for the grafix card and it improves it a bit but nothing like it should be , would it make a difference if my windows resolution is lower as its different to my in game resolution ?

Specs ,

Amd Phenom II Quad Core 955 Black Edition
Amd Radeon HD 6670 1 Gb
8 gig ram
Win 7 Ultimate 32 bit SP1

The only things that worked for me were to install the AMD 11.10 preview 2 drivers and to add +vt_maxPPF 16 +jobs_numThreads 0 to the launch options in Steam. I'm pretty sure that just adding +jobs_numThreads 0 would suffice. The game runs now and looks as intended, with no grey and black blocks and no artifacts. The only downside is that one core still runs at 100% so there is some very brief freezes at times and frame rate is quite low, but tolerable. It's not ideal, but at least I can play and the game is fantastic.

you right click Rage in your steam library, click properties, then there is an option called something like activate startup settings, or something like that
