Hi! I played Skyrim for a couple hundred hours with no real problems. I quit after I could not progress in the Reunification of Skyrim quest, I re-bought Skyrim a year later hoping it would be fixed with a patch but no avail.

Reunification of Skyrim - Take Control of Winterhold

After successfully conquering Fort Dunstad, Legate Rikke has the quest arrow above her head with no "Report" dialogue options.

Fixes I have attempted:

1. Froze her with Ice Form, then talked to her.
2. Attacked her, payed a bounty, talked to her.
3. Confronted General Tullius, until all dialogue options were gray.
4. Waiting one whole Skyrim month. (Did other quests, etc)
5. Went back to Fort Dunstad, checked perimeter for dragons, went in every room.
6. Traveled to the fort of the next questline, cleared out Stormcloak, nothing happened.

I thought this might have something to do with Winterhold so I tried to complete the quests there, and I completed the whole College questline.
The quest "Visit the College of Winterhold" is still in my journal and points to quest target, the elf, Nirya. No successful completion on that one.
I thought perhaps the two glitches were linked since they are both in Winterhold but perhaps not.


I've stopped playing as well, I'd like to continue the Legion before Dawnguard. Do you think uninstalling the Dawnguard addon might help?
Any other solutions? Have you had these bugs before?

Should I clear out my cache and patches? Maybe that will help?
