Legend of Grimrock

I know many of you on the forums have gotten http://store.steampowered.com/app/207170/. I just purchased it a couple of days ago, and I have to say, I'm really enjoying it.

For those of you who haven't yet, it's on sale ($5.99 for the next 3 hours!)

How are you guys playing it? What kind of party did you pick?

I picked a human fighter specializing in armor, swords, and a little athletics. A human rogue specializing in assassination, daggers, and dodge. A human mage specializing in fire magic, ice magic, and spellcraft. And an insectoid mage specializing in air magic, earth magic, and spellcraft.

I feel like it's a pretty good party, though I kind of feel like my rogue is kind of worthless. Maybe I just need to level her up some more before she really becomes valuable. I never get a chance to attack an opponent from behind though, so maybe I'm doing something wrong. I don't know.

Regardless, the game is really fun! I'm liking the puzzles and the combat so far. Plus it's really beautiful in a grim sort of way.

It's a great game. I got to the 10th level before I stopped playing (this always happens, I just get tied up doing other stuff).

Also, it isn't really described as a point and click game.

I am hopeless with the combat system, I can never get the timing on moving away, striking and so forth right, meaning that my frontliners (a human warrior; armor, weapons, athletics. and a minotaur; axes, armor, lots of health and strength) get killed. The rouge is basically useless until it gets the ability to attack from the back row, and the mage is completely useless until more than halfway through the first level, and even then I had spent the points too thinly for it be actually able to cast the spell I found.

It's very short, does not have randomized loot tables, and the equipment you find is class specific (i.e. if you want to veer away from fire mage, you don't get good gear.)

Plus, once you solve all the puzzles, there's no replay value.

Amazingly fun the first time, though. Worth it to support it and to play once.

Maybe if it had a Dungeon Pass for $50? ;)

I got it a few days ago but have been playing The Bard's Tale.

It's only kind of a point and click game. A lot of the game, especially the combat, is all about staying mobile.
