Lol, it's supposed to be hard
FYI.......I play on legendary AND I enjoy it and I'm not the only one, there's folks that play DiD on legendary
I don't think it was designed as a game starting difficulty but rather something you switch to later when you start to become overpowered
This. Even then though, can some enemies be quite deadly.
Yeah it was designed for your level 72 that you are one hitting everything insight with your godly bow of awesomeness or your sword of "lay down and die I said"
Edit - but now I want to try to start with it on and just see how Helgen goes!
Yes Legendary may not be for everyone and particularly at lower levels =i enjoy it but even with modestly OP weapon it is still a challenge and thats what i like yes i could play non OP at say master but i wanted to increase skill levels in more trees than i could at 81, so there can be several reasons for using it.
but yea many things can be challenging i also think it introduces more surprise elements.
Any dragon can kill you if you are not careful
3 Forsworn at once, i often get killed there as 3 or 4 hits can take me down
a single draugur overlord deathlord
arch cryomancer or equivalent, 2 or 3 hits again and i can be done for.
as for mammoths and giants do not go near them!
i have also come across a lone bandit who looks like he will be a swordmaster but suddenly unexpectedly produces a couple of blasts of offensive magic and its curtains for me
Also remember at higher levels you come across proportionally more of these.
Last night an Ancient dragon killed me with one blast of fire, not even a full blast either it was more like a half blast cause he was still spewing out fire long after I died. This was on master not even legendary. My Dragon slayer isn't a weakling by no means, he's reached AR cap with a little fire/frost resist enchanted on said armor and still that scaly bugger showed me who's boss
I will be returning to that dragon later on and once I do find him again....... I'll be the one unleashing hell fire
I've always felt that those that claim to do everything on the highest difficulty, especially with very modest gear, are rather like those men who drive cars with long bonnets (hoods for our colonial friends!). They are compensating for being somewhat under-endowed in the trouser department.
Ouch - sorry to hear it, I hate getting killed like that (easily, without putting up a fight). Was your PC up to full health? How much is that for your guy/girl? I don't believe AC helps against dragon breath, but magic resistance definitely does so maybe the Alteration tree is a good way to beef up.
You should have transformed into the Hell Wolf? that you are and showed him who's [censored] boss in Skyrim.
The damned thing refused to land, all I could do was piss it off with arrow His health is in the 290 range, he's only Lv.40 but he was at full strength when I bumped into that dragon. I try to avoid resist magic enchants, IMO it makes the game a little too easy
Don't worry though, I learned a pretty good lesson out of it...... A single tree DOESN'T make for good cover
I usually make my characters really strong vs magic users or really strong vs melee. Like my main character has max armor and max shield damage reduction, so even on legendary dragon melee attacks barely scraqe health off, and the only thing that can really hurt him is magic attacks. And my mage character has like 80% magic resist, plus 50% elemental damage resist, plus spell absorption, but I have low armor, so melee attacks and arrows can kill him in like 2-3 hits.
Its just fun to me that way, to know that I can be very strong against some things and weaker against others.
Lol, there would have been no challenge then. The dragon wouldn't have known what hit em.
Tis the same thing I do I like to add a weak point to all my characters, a chink in their armor if you will
edit....
Thought this was my topic " Dragon spawns ", my bad. Back on topic......
A custom difficulty would be awesome, you could choose to permanently disable fast travel, make your character eat X times a day or health/stamina drain or don't replenish. Require x hours of sleep a day if desired, tweak bosses over mobs, weapons and armor, skill progression even - making leveling harder to do for the truly masochistic players.
It does, the higher in level you get and the better you improve your gear the easier Legendary gets Then you'll look to making offensive skills legendary just so you get that challenge back
In other words a " Hard core " setting like that of FO: New Vegas Which I'm sure could be added by a patch.**wink, wink, nudge, nudge** there Beth.
