I found the Legendary Deathclaw at Dead Wind Cavern. Despite handling the other deathclaws rather easily with my Q-35 Matter Modulator and the Anti-Material Rifle, the Legendary Deathclaw pwns me and my crew every darn time (usually in one or two swings). I was thinking about going back there and mini-nuking it. I also had Raul in my party and I'm wondering if Boone would be better help for this kill. Any advice on how to beat this beast?

Running away might be a valid tactic... no, wait, they're faster than you... hmm...

Use your psycho and buffout and your med-x. Have your stimpacks on hotkey. Use a stealth boy and get a sneak crit to start the battle off strong.

Boone, give him the Gobi sniper rifle, then flee with stimpacks hotkey'd and hope Boone takes it out before it shreds you.

Have you tried crippling the legs? That was my tactic back in FO3 against Behemoths and Deathclaws.

I'm sure AP rounds on your Anti-Materiel should do the trick.
