Legendary difficulty,illogical.

I'm all for a harder setting, but this is flawed in oblivion and skyrim.making a game harder just by increasing the ai,s hit points and increasing their damage done to you 10 fold isn't,making the game more fun or challenging it should make the tactics of the ai more intelligent say 3 men aproach you in a battle two attack you one hangs back and heals his comrades or attacks with a powerful spell and they adapt as the battle unfolds this is more fun this is more challenging this is the way it should work not the way it is do you agree, disagree and why.

They're not gonna make smarter ai in a patch so I don't care. This is the next best thing. Actually I'd rather have this, as there's only so much AI can do, and this allows me to not hold back anymore on enchantments.

Wouldn't be any different with "smart" ai.

I don't see an option for legendary in my difficulty setting. Is there a pre-req for being able to select it?

This how all the settings are in skyrim and oblivion this needs to be addressed in the longhaul if games will evolve to really challenge us in a human perspective.

Eh, I'll take the harder difficulty. How they approach me means little if my armor blocks all their damage and I kill them in two hits. Both would be nice, but I'm perfectly happy with this.

Do I want an ai overhaul? Sure, but I would expect something like that to happen during the programming of the next game, not in a patch for Skyrim.

Your absolutely wrong in saying that smarting enemies change the fight completely because they don't continue to just fight the same way throughout the battle!

I'm not expecting anything radical, and I'm not going to cite what mods have done. imo what would be a huge boon is just conditional awareness of the player and allies/enemies.

I am/am not the target of the player

I have/have not allies to help me

I am/am not in possession of ranged attacks

I am/am not outnumbered

I have/have not a certain defense/offense towards an enemy.

but yeah, I await what the next iteration of the series have to offer, in AI and how it handles "difficulty" imo how its handled now, as well as the divorce between it and other game mechanics or those that no longer exists (failing spells/speech checks etc etc) I vouch the difficulty bar just get omitted, and let this lol Radiant System handle the health sponges

You cant fight what you cant see...The AI can be a lot better there are tons of games that prove this. Yet does Bethesda have the $$$ or the ____ to do it.

I want examples as to what they can change for the AI. I'm not saying anyone's wrong, I'm just saying I don't see what else there is to change. This isn't a first person shooter after all.

This is true, but if your health is getting low what do you do?Continue to fight or use potions to quickly heal and return to the fight ai should be intuitive and respond in the same fashion or in groups they would change their strategy against a heavenly armored opponent who fight with physical attacks, using magic to summon more help and or healing in combination to counter your full out attack.

Most enemies have level caps. You're going to way outclass your enemies going past 81. I don't see the need.

The only thing I see potential value in is being able to reach level 81 without having to max out skills I don't use, like sneaking and pickpocket.

the point I'm trying to make is that when you increase the difficulty,it should make the ai smarter In combat not just making it so that you have to hit them 50 times to kill them!
