Legendary Perks

Post » Wed Mar 06, 2013 2:39 pm

am i the only person on here who is seeing the potential with legendary skills as more than just a way to remove the level cap? all i seem to see people latching onto is how "its pointless to drop your skills back to 15" or "there are no benefits why would we want to do that?" besides the obvious roleplaying reasons for wanting this system the min/maxxers should be content that they will have access to more perks and finally have every perk, like so many people ask for on a near daily basis

however i think there is more to it than that. this is just opening up the door for them to add new perks and new skills to the tree without forcing people to re-roll.

i mean think about the possibilities

legendary one-handed perks could triple or quadruple damage, a perfect fit for warriors who want to stay true the their build without delving into enchanting

legendary destruction perks could double or triple damage on spells, thus eliminating all of the "destruction is underpowered" arguments out there

legendary crafting perks could double or triple the bonus's from these skills, eliminating the need to use glitches or loops to get OP gear

a cool idea would be to make access to legendary perks limited to the number of times you have "prestiged"(sorry couldnt think of a better word and legended sounds dumb lol) such as everytime you make a skill legendary you gain access to one legendary perk from that tree

the possibilities are endless and i highly doubt this is the end all be all of legendary skills

btw sorry for making yet another post about the new system, i just continue to see people either intentionally or ignorantly looking over the good points of this revamp to the system if a mod feels like this topic would be better suited in another forum or merged with another thread i understand =D

I see your point, but if this was the case they would of said it out right. now that doesn't mean your wrong, personally i hope your right. but as of now i don't see the legendary perks usefulness because they haven't given any at this time.

true, but its still in beta they are probably keeping the announcements about stuff like that until after they see how it works in the beta. what im suggesting if its a possibility at all will most likely come in a DLC that is paid for, not a free update. however the system itself needed to be overhauled in order to keep things even across the board and make it possible for such improvements to be implemented

I think that's the reason why they've added this reset option. Wasn't one of the reasons why they wouldn't add any new skill trees because people will have already achieved level 81?

That sounds like it would be cool, but it's just a whole bunch of conjecture. And you bring up a good point about it still only being in beta. Maybe, if they are going to include DLC updates, they may exclude them from the beta so that people don't find out about it even earlier. Then just include them in the actual update.

Entirely new skill trees? That would be cool. Allow for even better customisation. They would have to add at least one for each of the three groups (Warrior, Mage, Thief) wouldn't they?
