Legion fame.

Right how can I improve my standing with the legion ? My interaction has been
Killing vulpes inculta
wiping out cottenwood cove
stopping the onorail destruction in I put a spell on you
interrogating the prisoner
I got out of the lucky 38 and it has rest to neutral. I plan to side with house, but want the safehouse key. How can I increase my fame enough to then get the key and not have house/ncr hate me.

Without cottonwood cove it's basically impossible imo, as only the quest to collect dog tags from NCR troopers would give you anywhere near the rep to get you above neutral.
You could work for caesar and his cohorts but those are short and end game changing making a hostile NCR likely.

So I think you're stuck at this point tbh.

If you don't mind being on the wrong side of the ncr, you can kill ncr troopers and sell their dog tags to the legion

or you could try and pickpocket the dog tags from the ncr troopers

You've got a hard road a head of you, as you killed the primary sources of legion fame outside the main quests. You might be able to side with the legion long enough to achieve liked without closing off the NCR, but I doubt it even with the arena. Certainly you'd have to close off house to gain enough fame. Your just going to have to skip it this time.

He killed the person you give the tags to.

oh yeah, forgot he was at cotton wood. You may be able to help the legion with the camp forlorn hope quests.

Helping Siri in the fort is one point.

Killing Sgt. Teddy is one point.

Doing Caesar's first task is five points.

The various arena fights add up to around twelve, I think if you do them all.

Not nearly enough to get you Liked, unfortunately.

Lovely, a Legion-related thread. Saves me creating one for something that is confusing me.

Here it is. I've finished 'Ring-A-Ding', and obtained the Mark of Caesar with regards to 'Render Unto Caesar'. I'm assuming this makes me neutral with the Legion, I can't remember the conversation with the man who appeared outside of The Tops. Anyway, I'm holding back on all path-related quests as I would like to clean up most of the side quests to reach Lv. 30 and grab achievements.

I'm almost at Lv. 18, and I'll be making a save JUST BEFORE I align onto a faction path once I hit Lv. 30.I'll be doing NCR > Caesars Legion > Independent > Mr. House. Now, as I have a list of side-quests I have a couple of missions that will make me hated with the Legion. Now if I was to align with them after I load up my save having finished the NCR plotline, will this affect the questline with the Legion? Due to the quests, I'll be loading up and have a not so good reputation with Legion.

Wall of text, but I'm stumped here. I know already NCR dislike the Legion. But I'd like to work off one save to take each path. Any insight will be appreciated.

Yeah I reloaded, wanted to get turbo recipe anyway, and redo dead money (again).
I am liked, which is great, free stealthoys and they give me free loot. Also That veteran in the safehouse, I can kill him too when I betray thier trust, it feels better that way, infiltraiting and totally wiping them out.
Well I am in the safehouse so this can be locked. Now to put some c4 on caesers throne.

You get one shot to reset your reputation with the Legion, and one shot to reset your reputation with the NCR. Once those are gone, everything else you do will be remembered.

If you intend to do multiple quest lines off a single save, do not do things that vilify you if you are already past those two points.

There are quite a lot of things you can do to gain XP and even gain standing with the factions without losing reputation with other factions.

Thankyou for the reply, much appreciated. If you can remember is there any chance you could name the point please, without spoling too much? Perhaps the quest name, if possible. I have the Platinum Chip, and have a quest from Wild Card (Independent) The House Always Wins (Mr. House) and the Legion. I have to go somewhere for the NCR questline. But I havn't bothered, due to reasons I stated before. I honestly don't think I've advanced far enough into the story yet though. Hopefully.

Oh, I'm liked by almost all minor factions and towns with exception to Powder Gangers, and I have no standing as of yet with the Legion. But the quests I need to do will change this to a negative stance. Will I be able to revert to neutral once I undertake that questline?

Right after you talk to Benny your rep gets reset if you have a negative rep with the NCR or CL.

If I recall correctly the two points of reset are when Vulpes gives you the Mark of Caesar, and when Ambassador Crocker gives you an assignment. Resets Legion and NCR reputation respectively, but (hopefully) not if you already have positive rep with them.

Do all their side quests without doing the main quest, spread knowledge of Legion fear at Mojave Outpost, kill people at The Fort's Arena, and you can collect dogtags with pickpocketting as long as you don't get caught. All these things don't make you gain infamy with any of the factions.

So for clarification. This is straight after dealing with Benny, right? And the Mark of Caesar WILL NOT work for me now? I ask this because I'm working on all four faction questlines from one savefile. Reload, and take a different path. So with the Mark of Caesar in my inventory, there is no way I can be forgiven for anything I do to the Legion from now on?

If that is the case, I'll have to keep this as my main save file. Make another, work off that and come back to my save-file with no standing with Legion.

Thankyou for the reply. :)

Vulpes approaches you right as you leave the Tops after "dealing" with Benny.

Ambassador Crocker depends on when you go visit him after getting his invitation (after leaving the Lucky 38 for the first time).

As far as I know, if you anger the Legion after getting the Mark, they will be hostile. And even a disguise doesn't work because there are too many sniffer dogs and sniffer guards in the camp.

I'm currently pushing to see how far I can go with the various groups before I lose my ability to work with them, and keeping a variety of hard saves.

Understood. Thankyou for the reply, exactly what I needed to know. The thing is, if I completely ignore the few Legion-related quests I'll be nowhere near maxing out my character level at 30. Hence why I'm trying to do almost every marked side-quest. Sitting on the start of Lv. 17 now. I suppose I could seperate my saves, one for Legions questline strictly. I'll be finishing an NCR questline first though.

I'll head to the Legion camp, and save. That way I'll remember it is for mu Legion questline.
