"Let's talk about my reward!"

Good evening folks,

I've also come here to share my thoughts ... and worries about the reward-system.
First of all I used to play old MMORPGs like Dark Age of Camelot, Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning and GuildWars.
But I've also been playing new MMORPGs like GuildWars 2 because it had a promising RvR system.

While playing DAoC, WAR or GuildWars rewards were not granted to everybody. While playing DAoC in a massive zerg hitting 15 enemies rewards were shared. Therefore players who grouped up massively didn't profit that much if they wanted rewards.
Individual players like solo players or fullgroups reached for more profit while seperating from the huge zerg trying to aim for own rewards.
Therefore individual players felt really good beacuse they were rewarded by the system.
It was logic: Killing 3 players on your own granted much rewards (like money, bountypoints and realmpoints).
... And hardcoe players were rewarded better than casual players.

Why am I talking about this? Because along with GuildWars 2 new game philosphies arrived:
Actually it looks like this: I get the best event reward while doing 1 damage to an enemy. Casual and hardcoe players get the same rewards. No matter if you kill 10 enemies alone or along with 30 friends you will get those kills counted to titles and you will get rewards for just one damage you've been doing.
Even Area of Effect-Skills do damage which is much higher or equal to singletarget-skills.
I played GuildWars 2 until this week in lower and in top tiers and my fear sounds like: Is it typical for modern games? Rewarding EVERY player for ... let's call it "being there"?

Well ... Someone might say: "Why not? Its great! So many rewards for everyone! : )"
1. What about (semi-)hardcoe players who enjoy "roaming in RvR" or using tactic (and their mind)?
2. You get so many rewards, you don't even know what the hell you are doing there. People in GuildWars 2's WvW don't even realize that they are repairing the gate of an important keep. They just know: I get at least some rewards for it!
One more example - even in zerg vs zerg fights: Players are just spamming Area of Effect damage skills because they seem to get rewarded by "Honormarks". While this is absolutely not tactical they just keep knowing: I got rewarded pretty well! Let's repeat it!

I know those examples are pretty "PvP-orientated" ... To be honest: I am a PvP player. Maybe somebody who is much more "PvE-orientated" feels free to comment on this.

tl;dr: Please Zenimax, take care of the reward system!

even if theres alot of loot now, because weveryone got something, what tells you the chances of 'good' loot is that low that everyone will get a good item for killing 10 enemies? oO
