Level to do Honest Hearts at?

Post » Sun Feb 13, 2011 5:01 am

Alright so seeing as im on vacation from work next week I figured I would go ahead and replace my now deceased 360 and fire up New Vegas again. What I want to know is what level would you guys recomend starting HH at? I was thinking about trying to get up to level ten and maybe go ahead and do it after I catch up to benny at the tops, maybe rp that after my courier gets payback on the man who tried to kill him he decides to try and get away from the war by taking a job as a caravan guard. So without giving any spoilers what do yall think, is level ten to early or could I do it right after leaving goodsprings at level two if I wanted to?

Honestly, I'd say you'd be fine. I did HH first at level 14. I plan on doing it again at maybe level 5 or so on a different playthrough, see how challenging I can make it.

I'm currently working my way through it at Level 27, and am finding it to be quite easy so far, playing on Hard difficulty and hardcoe mode. Not nearly as many high level traps, locks, terminals and speech/skill checks as there were in Dead Money (though I'm only making slow progress - I'm moving and just don't have a lot of time to play right now). I probably would find it to be more challenging at Level 10, but not impossibly difficult.

When I play through again I am going to try it at a much lower level.

aparentelly the enemies are at par with your current lv so it doesen't really mater at what level you enter so you should be fine at what ever level you decide to do it and you will get some nice new toys to play the rest of the game ;)

Yup, any level. Just a couple quest enemies that might give some trouble when you have no foreknowledge but other than that, all cake and pie. Especially if you don't mind using a companion. With no companion & on Very Hard it's a bit challenging at first w/low gear (especially if you don't like to use VATS) but that doesn't last too long.

There are a few mid-to-highish speech check options and locks that one might miss if you start at lvl 1-2, but with the locks I think you can always come back later and get them then if you want.

First times through I was level 22 and 33. I came here inquiring about low levels and after some feedback ended up going in at level 5 and was quite satisfied. You'll want some skill in Guns (or so it seems to me - Guns 50 worked out just fine; Hunting Rifle + .45 Auto = sixy fun time).

Level 5 is kind of a sweet spot, imo.
