Leveling and Gearing in Cyrodiil

Post » Thu Nov 07, 2013 1:18 pm

Hello everyone, I'm new to the forums and I have a question I hope can be answered, or will spark an interesting discussion.

So players can enter Cyrodiil at level 10. I understand its a huge zone with PvE quests, as well as various PvP activities providing EXP. My question is, is it viable for a player (like myself, who loves open faction-based pvp) to enter Cyrodiil at level 10 and remain there and keep up with the level/gear progression of players who remain in PvE zones?

I do hope the answer is yes, entirely or partially (viable with some mix of PvE zone questing/exploring), as I would love to spend a lot of time in Cyrodiil from the start. What I hope isn't the case is that overwhelmingly the best (and perhaps because of the competitive nature of PvP, the ONLY) viable progression path is to max out your level/gear progression doing PvE and only then return to PvP.

What do you guys think about this topic?

I'm not sure about that, I haven't researched much about the PvP because I for one extremely dislike anything player vs player, but I would assume that if you can enter at 10 you should be able to progress there...?

You can level and gear through PvP, even at low levels.

Yeah, but what he's (or she) asking is whether the rate of progression is the equivalent as if you did PvE content to level instead. Basically is it as viable to level in PvP as it is in PvE?

Personally, don't know if it is or no. I hope so though.

IMO, i highly doubt it, Most games i see that say you can end up being false about it. You generally CAN do it, but it is NEVER as fast as through PVE.

honestly since the game is still in closed beta this is impossible to answer. But I would say the best is to do a mix that way you can start working of the fighters and mages guild skill lines (eventually darkbrotherhood and theivs guild when they are added) which I think are done only in cyrodil( or maybe that is the ranks and you just have to go there to start those skill lines). There are also 3 pvp skill lines and something called undaunted skill line.
