Leveling, uneven Difficulty and other issues

Hi,

Very pretty game... yes, some annoying PC UI issues, but still very nice.

I am playing on Master difficulty after fining Adept unchallenging. I am level 15, and have been playing about 10 hours (just to explain the amount of exposure to the game I have had).

Issue #1 is the way you gain levels... you level things like Blacksmith and Enchanting fairly quickly, and end up leveling due to that. However, these skills don't increase your survivability to nearly the same extent that weapon, magic and armor skills do, so the next dungeon I enter after a significant amount of crafting, ends up being much harder. It would be good if the "utility" skills had a smaller impact on leveling.

Issue #2 is armor/health and survivability vs different critters. With Dual Wield and Heavy Armor, & 10 out of 15 levels put points into HP ... I am still a glass cannon. Snow Trolls, Sabertooths, Ice Wraiths - almost all of these guys take me down in 1 - 3 hits (trolls 1, ice wraith 3) ... Duerg are relatively painless, however ... still, I would have thought with good steel/dwarven armor and most points into HP I would be better equipped to soak up some damage even from the tougher monsters. On the flip side, if they go after my companion, I walk behind them and two or three dual wield power attacks take them down.

Issue #3 are dragons... On one hand, 1:1 a dragon is impossible for me, however, it isn't ever an issue since they always attack me near a town and the guards always help - at the end of the day, a dragon doesn't make me nervous at all... a Sabertooth or Ice wrath as I climb a mountain is way scarier. Also, I had a dragon attack me and a giant was nearby and the giant just swatted the dragon into the ground without taking almost any damage at all.

I need to post in the modding section, so that someone will help handle these issues...

about point 2:
the reason those guys are hurting you so bad (at least the for the troll and the wraith) is elemental damage.

magic and poison is not really well balanced in right now. so anything with magic or elemental damage becomes quite fearsome in a 1 on 1 fight.
someone also mentioned that player magic is underpowered in later game due to enemies have much higher HP than the player, and magic doesn't scale up to compensate

Maybe your Blacksmith goes up fast if you make a buttload of iron daggers but otherwise it shouldn't.
