[REQ] Light Armor Circlets

Post » Tue May 15, 2012 11:39 am

One of the things that bothers me about the perk system in Skyrim is that you require a helm to get any bonuses. Any chance someone could change the circlets from clothing to Light armor? They don't need any armor bonuses, they just need to be light armor..

I agree with this, as most of the helmets look ridiculous and I love the minimalistic look of the circlets.

I'm going for a Barbarian style and I find the Circlets really fit well with the Forsworn armor. Sadly, the Forsworn helm doesn't look so great..

Indeed, there are only a couple of helmets in the entire game that look nice at all, most of them are way overdone and look garish.

I always thought a way to deal with these helmet requirements would be to change the perks slightly. For example, the one for a full light armor equipped bonus could ask that no heavy armor be equipped instead of asking for light armor in every slot.

Or, now that I think about it... just edit the perk to not require helmets at all...

Do the modders have access to FormIDs? Perhaps they could add light circlets to the list of FormIDs for light armor so the perks count them as part of a set. Even if the Circlets were light armor, they would not be part of any set.

Something like this would indeed work quite nicely, and I'd be able to easily do it myself if we had some proper modding tools.

For now I'm opening the BSA files and renaming the meshes of unique armors (Like Dragonbone) to Circlets so I can get set bonuses without upsetting the balance of the game.

Mistress Rarity, do you have to repack the renamed mesh into a new BSA file, or just dropping them into .../Data/Meshes does the hackjob? :)

This would be the best solution imho, it would allow people to wear hoods as well as circlets.
