I'd Like to Discuss First Person

1st Person View removal

If you guys want standard FPS First Person view, you gotta reveal your disapointment towards this, to archieve this goal you gotta "break the ice" and post a comment on this topic, and if you want this, dont say that FPV svcks cause it doest, it makes the interaction with the world much better and makes you take your caracter identity, please post a comment, it might help, unless some coward closes this topic and bans me for no reason at all, i know myself for my persistence, and i wont give up

Im a huge TES fan, and i prob will skip this if there is no FPS FPV, and go play TES VI, because on my eyes, this is no TES if there are no FPS FPV,

The mods don't lock the topics because people aren't allowed to discuss this. They are locked as they devolve into flame wars or petitions. Anyways, the devs have said numerous times that they are working on implementing FPPOV with the arms.

Thank you for being a voice of reason.

First: Welcome to the Forums.

Second: The threads on a repetitive topic tend to be consolidated. If they devolve into misbehavior, then they get locked. This thread is a likely example, as a) the moderators are not devs (mostly) and b) calling out people in thread titles is never a good idea.

TESO casts =/= devs.

When a dev says they are still working on a feature, chances are the feature is still being worked on.

I would've liked to see FPV only Cyrodiil Campaigns.

One of the developers already basically said that first person is going to be inferior to third person, just because of the less awareness you will have.
Even if they do put first person in the game, using it will be the death of you, so they probably just think all the players will use 3rd person anyway. So why put in a first person at all?
It just that first person is not viable for mmos.

I really dont care a lot if the game is good at what it is designed for.
I play TES games from 11 years now, and I never use 3rd person view. Nonetheless, looking at how MMO games work. I see myself using 1st person view in so few moments in this game.
But for gameplay, I find 1st person view a real problem, and if its there, I see some people will die fast and hilariously because they dont look at they surrounding ground.
But well, I hope FPV is there, so we can switch while we are just walking. But if its not there I dont see the big deal. This is not a SP ES game, this is a MMO ES game.

Dont think of it as an elder scrolls game, its not. Its going to be a mmo with a elder scrolls feel that comes secondary to the mmo parts of the game.

I think first person with hands will be achieved because its such an iconic thing with all ES game since the beginning, not that I ever use it unless I am trying to read a stack of books or something, but its still there and can be used and most ES game players know that and want that, period.

its my opinion that first person view is amazing for single player games. i have been saying for years that if grand theft auto would be built around first person it would be even more fun than it already is. now in mmo games first person view is usually an after thought and with good reason. 3rd person just gives you the upper hand. easier to see everything going on around you. still i feel both should be supported to make everyone as happy as possible. i dont think its worth skipping the game over though as i truely believe they will strike gold with TESO
