how do I find out information on it just wondering if besides the casing if has anything else different like maybe the specs ? even Wikipedia doesn't have it listed

so I gave the Serial number to Xbox Employee person and they linked me to http://www.videogameconsolelibrary.com/images/Manuals/01_Microsoft_Xbox_(PAL)-Manual.pdf and told me it was manufactured in 2005 they also know exactly what type of Xbox it is just from the serial number and im just curious if anyone knows what they did and if anyone can do it too ?
