That this is still a bad thing for a show to you means you didn't quite get the point the people who made Friendship is Magic were trying to make.
(Of course, there's still a "bad" sort of girly, which the early 2000s shows exemplified, but the ones connected with the G1 toys? Not really. Or at least not always.)
