My Little Pony: The Gathering Discussion

Core 2012 and Scars of Mirrodin have the best fire cards currently, but it wont be too long until they rotate out. In may we have Avacyn restored which is the final expansion of the Innistrad block. Then two months later in July we have Core 2013. Then some time later around the fall time the new set will be unveiled/launch and then finally core 2012 and the Mirrodin block rotate out of standard. If anyone sees any mistakes feel free to correct me. So all of the "good" fire cards might not return. Or with their favorites gone people will look to the new cards to use. Innistrad has a few good ones, but not nearly as much as Core 2012 and Mirrodin.

Edit
If you want your cards to last for quite some time in a "standard" format. Then I would start with Innistrad and just forget about Mirrodin.

Thanks for the info! Well, after the film (it was a nice film) I made my way to my local Card shop, and bought about 105 cards ( approximately 7 booster packs- did not buy any individual cards-)

I was surprised when I opened one of them to find a nice http://gatherer.wizards.com/pages/Card/Details.aspx?multiverseid=262847 card in its midst! I had a smile on my face noticing that it was a Red/Black. This is my first Mythic Rare card, and is currently being held captive in a card sleeve, even if it's only worth about 5 bucks. I also got a few more,http://gatherer.wizards.com/pages/card/Details.aspx?multiverseid=214054, http://gatherer.wizards.com/pages/Card/Details.aspx?multiverseid=214053, http://gatherer.wizards.com/pages/card/Details.aspx?multiverseid=236464, http://gatherer.wizards.com/pages/Card/Details.aspx?multiverseid=220127, and http://gatherer.wizards.com/pages/card/Details.aspx?multiverseid=214074.

My brother and I both each got 1 Dual-Sided cards, mine was http://gatherer.wizards.com/pages/Card/Details.aspx?multiverseid=226735 and his was http://gatherer.wizards.com/pages/Card/Details.aspx?multiverseid=221179, which is an ok Blue may I add, but I won't be using it ever (I doubt he will either..) I like the whole idea of Dual-Sided cards, but I don't know if I will be using any of them...

Oh, I also got anhttp://gatherer.wizards.com/pages/Card/Details.aspx?multiverseid=246949 which I will not be letting my dad get a hold of, just because he uses White and I won't let him beat me :stare:

Overall it's been a fantastic day! Time to begin working on my deck again

Okay, I have tested my Black/Red deck and I must say it is pretty good, although I lost twice- Once due to a bad shuffle on my part, second time playing Everlasting Torment too soon but overall it was pretty good...

Considering this day is based on ponies, might as well make it fit the thread. I just found this on the internet.. I must say it's nice art work for whoever did this.. Whether or not I dislike ponies is a different story..

There's one flip card that I consider borderline playable. It's a red werewolf. 1 mana for a 1/1. He can flip into a 3/1. Though this is only if you don't have http://gatherer.wizards.com/pages/Card/Details.aspx?multiverseid=230783

Edit
Elite Inquisitor, Slagstorm, and Falkenrath Aritocrat are all very solid and powerful cards. Ludivic's Test Subject is my favourite card in terms of fluff. I just like the description, the mechanics, and how awesome it looks. I've got it in front of me in a sleeve at this moment.

Yeah these are all pretty good cards for sure, my dad uses a white deck and if he sees the Inquisitor... Man, idk maybe I should go hide this :stare:

I'm tempted to use the Aritocrat, already using Slagstorm, but idk the Aritocrat looks great.. What to do..

Edit- April Fools day is over.. lets get our thread names back -.-...

I still have my Falkenrath Aritocrat in a card sleeve, that's my only card currently in a sleeve, though I'm tempted to use it.. Me and my bro gonna play some magic later

Now, is it worth using a Mythic Rare card? I mean, it has value clearly, but what if I never sell things on the internet really anyways.. Meh, I'm thinking of using it- Maybe after I speak to my local card shop about it?

I tap 3 islands for http://gatherer.wizards.com/Pages/Card/Details.aspx?multiverseid=227225 *yawn*, what was that about blue decks again ?

I got this card in one of my boosters yesterday :stare:
good thing me and my brother dislike blue decks and aren't using it

Might be buying more cards in the future, or waiting for the next cards to be released. I'll probably be waiting.

CAN A MOD CHANGE THE NAME BACK, PLEASE ITS BUGGING ME.

I have a question... When is the next set of cards coming out? Does anybody know?

Avacyn, Angel of Hope looks freaking fantastic.. 3 White Mana + 5 Colorless for a 8/8 Flying Vigilance with All Permanents have Indestructible... :stare: Too bad it's a white card...
