A little Test

Post » Mon May 14, 2012 2:53 am

A woman, while at the funeral of her own mother, met a man who she did not know. She thought he was ‘amazing’. She believed him to be her dream partner so much, that she fell in love with him right there,
but she doesn't have the phone number and doesn't know where he lives.
A few days later she killed her sister.

What was her motive for killing her sister?

Don't open it until you answered the question.
Spoiler

If you answered this "correctly", you think like a psychopath. This was a test by a famous American psychologist used to test if one has the same mentality as a killer.
Many arrested serial killers took part in the test and answered the question correctly.
If you didn’t answer the question correctly, good for you.

Answer:
Spoiler
She was hoping the guy would appear at the funeral again.

Anyone capable of basic logical thinking can solve that. Can you tell me what famous american psychologist you were referring to?

First: Where's your answer?
Second: There is no right answer, because of the lack of information.
Third: At least put your comment in spoiler tags.
Fourth: I'm referring to no one. I copy&pasted it from somewhere.

Edit: I think Exorince answered the question right.

... :ermm:

I don't know enough to put an accurate guess so I will blame a few factors:
The new male may be malipulative
She has been blackmailed
She is suffering from some sort of mental illness related to the death of her mother, (and maybe the sudden high of finding the new man)
She plans to kill herself as well so the family can be "one" again.

Well, I'm glad I was wrong, not looney bin for me this week B)

I thought the same thing. I think most people answer it like that.

Obviously she wanted to kill the sister so that the guy would show up at another funeral...

So who wants to be by friend? :shifty: :whistling:

This, or there was a wholly another, unrelated reason.

Thought her sister slept with him behind her back. :P

You can think of different scenarios anyway.

Her sister was an eldritch abomination from the anti-matter universe, and was annihilated when her matter-block SPF 5000 wore off.

I think the post should more clearly mention that the woman did not meet the man again after the funeral. Right now it says they met and she fell in love, which made me think they would continue having contact. Which resulted in me not thinking in the proper psychopathic direction. :P

I think that was the point, the lack of information.
If you were a psycho you'd have got that she wanted to see the man again.

Damn, I must be truly evil. I assumed she was going to kill her sister anyway, as she had killed her ma for the inheritance, and meeting this guy just moved her time scale forward.
Though to be fair, looking for psychopaths on a role playing games forum, where we create personalities different from our own as our entertainment of choice, is not going to give accurate results.

I assume she would know who her sister husband was. I know my sisters BF, not much, but I atleast know him.

I just assumed she was insane.

I just edited the post. I left something out, because I think it makes it a bit too obvious.

Ok I didn't look at the spoiler nor did I read what others have said so far. Her motive might be that the person was seeing her sister.

Edit: Ok, good to know I'm normal hehe.

This was my answer too. Yay, we're not psychopaths! Unless.. you live by the "takes one to know one" rule. I which case we are also insane, like her. :bolt:

Spoiler
It says that she didn't know the man.
That's true. But I would still not consider the right answer the actually right answer, since due to police procedures ongoing at the time of the next funeral both the man and woman are held in custody and won't be seeing each other. When the woman is found guilty, she won't see him again.

So I think the right answer is "because she's stupid".
