Lizzy Stride DLCgamecameosomething

Would be nice to have something about Lizzy. Maybe another DLC, Arkane? Please? Though I do not know, maybe we'll see her in The Brigmore Witches.

I understand that something is better to be left off screen. It adds to the richness of the world, and you can't show everything. anyway. But a female witch/Outsider chosen who leads a band of river pirates and is physically morphed into something sea-creature like is ridiculously amazing.

I'd like to see more of the supernatural elements in Dishonored. Maybe not always on-the-nose, but more subtle background implications.

Yep, the magical things were the most interesting. I felt intrigued each time I found something connected with the Outsider and his worship.

Though they work best in contrast with the mundane.

And so long as it's not used for deus ex machina.

Mind you, maybe the magical elements are better as they are; being background details (apart from the main characters) that are implied rather than explicitly stated. A bit like what the Metro series did before Last Light's third act.

Well, I'm not so sure that in Corvo's story the appearance of the Outsider can't be classified as deus ex machina. But yes, it's bad if logic is replaced with "cause magic" reasoning.

Still in light of magic being replaced by mysticism in the new Thief, I am glad that the Outsider is a real supernatural force in Dishonored. It's much more interesting this way.

I can't bring myself to play Metro yet. I didn't like the first game, and I feel that I have enough metro and postapocalypse and Russia in my life as it is. But I heard that the game is good. Did they go with some pseudo-spiritual stuff in the end?

I never said that the outsider was deus ex machina. Sorry if my wording implied that.

Yes, but they went a little overboard with it: without spoiling anything they did pull a little -'cause magic- moment at the end of the second act.

Out of curiosity optimist: you say you didn't like Metro. Was that because the game was frustrating/badly designed or that the theme was just depressing?

Definitely agree there. I don't get Eidos' argument that removing the supernatural from Thief will make it more immersive: it's almost as if they just said "well, we decided that 'modern players' wouldn't tolerate that spiritual nonsense, so we took out all the interesting supernatural bits and replaced them with linear escape sequences and finishing moves instead."
