Loading skyrim.esm shows a lot of warnings

Post » Wed Jun 20, 2012 11:26 am

Hello guys,

i just downloaded the Creation Kit. But immediately after i click on load, to load the "Skyrim.esm",
i get a huge amout of warnings.

The first ... 100 or so look like this:
"MASTERFILE: LOCALIZATION: Lookup failed for ID: 0x00012584 from
strings file: STRINGS/Skyrim_ENGLISH.DLSTRINGS"

The next thing is... there is no "Yes To All" Button or anything :o
The only way is to hold ENTER for 10 Seconds until loading is done.

Then after loading a cell, sometimes there come other warnings.
Or by adding a script to an object/marker:
"SCRIPTS: Data\Scripts\MidasShapeShiftInFXScript.pex : fatal: Magic
number doesn′t match, file is not a compiled script."

And so on. Really a huge amount of warnings... And badly i can′t disable them.
This way i can′t work. Is there any solution?

Thanks :)

This is normal. Just click "Yes To All", or "Cancel" in some Windows languages/versions.

Like mma said, there should definitely be a "Yes to all" option, but those warnings will come up again the next time you start the CK.

But there is no "Yes To All" Button ...
Is there no way to disable those warnings completely?

Sounds weird. I have not seen the issues you describe. Master navmesh blah blahs and what not, but there is a yes to all button for those.

Try uninstalling and reinstalling the CK. Make sure your data folder is in its proper location.

Just keep in mind that once you click 'Yes to All' the ck will keep loading, then if more pop up, they are most likely related to your esp/esm, and should be paid attention. As fixing them is usually a good thing.

I don't have a yes to all button, but hitting escape skips all the warning messages.

Yes to all button in some Windows' language versions is like Cancel button. First button is "Yes", second is "No", third is "yes to all" or "cancel" or any other in your language. Click it or press Escape to make them "yes to all". Either way, all warnings and mesaages about errors will be saved in EditorWarnings.txt in Skyrim folder.

If the warnings bother you too much you can open your SkyrimEditor.ini and change bBlockMessageBoxes=0 to 1. No more warnings will be displayed but its still a good idea to check your EditorWarnings.txt

Oh man, just, if you plan on keeping track of errors through that file, reopen the CK after exporting dialogue... It puts an error for every single dialogue line that doesn't export, so the file is like 19 megs. A 19MB txt file. So many warnings!
