Locked my topic? What now censorship too?

Post » Thu May 10, 2012 3:25 pm

You know, I expected some people to debate me in my post etc... That is the point of forums and discussions... even for those like me who have complaints. I NEVER expected to be censored and have my new post locked out. I guess serving in the military was NOT what I thought... in otherwords in the U.S. we do not have freedom of speech nor the right to dissent any longer.. The corporate greed and mentality has taken over and everything I believed during my service is no longer true I see.

I do not know if this is corporate policy to censor and lock out posts but if it is, it shows the true colors of this company.. If not and it is just some admin who has fun with the little 'power' he has over others, then you need a life because you must be taking this WAY too personally.

Your topic was locked because people kept flaming each other. If people are incapable of having a grown up argument, the topic gets locked. That's the rules.

It's also against the rules to make threads about locked topics, you should PM the mod that locked your thread.

Dissent is fine.

Trolling and flame-baiting isn't.

And this is a forum, not a country. It's privately owned and moderated, and they can censor as they see fit. Based on your attitude, I completely understand their position.

Also, perhaps you should do some more research about what it means to have freedom of speech in the US...

Because none of that applies on privately owned and operated online forums.

Malakie,

With respect, you ought to do some research on what freedom of speech, and the guarantee of it in the 1st Amendment, actually means.

It does not guarantee you the right to whine and moan in a forum owned by a private company. So complain that they are trying to stifle a legit beef if you want, just don't make it sound like you've been tossed into Gitmo or something.

This will get locked as well. It's off topic, and not about the game at all.

it gives me every right when I buy a product that is full of bugs.. What if it were a car or appliance etc? Would you accept one where the headlights did not work or the seatbelt were missing etc??? I am a PAYING customer that is tired of this treatment. Period.

So yes I take offense and others I am sure do as well. If I cannot talk on the very forums of the very company that created the very product then something is VERY wrong. If they do not like the heat then freaking FIX it and take care of your customers the way companies used to.. with REAL customer support where the customer is #1. Not where a customer is simply a bottom line number.

The younger generations might accept this as normal... I do not. I am in my 40's and this 'new' way of doing business is just NOT acceptable.

You can say there is no point and I am but one customer... sometimes a person needs to vent and I just did for factual reasons regarding this title - and MY money that was put in their pockets...

We have forum rules - you actually agreed to abide by them when you registered. This is a private forum, no one in infringing on your freedoms.
One of our forum rules is please don't create threads to discuss moderator actions. You can PM any moderator and ask about whatever situation you have encountered - it makes good sense to ping the moderator who locked your thread or whatever it was you were concerned about.

A courteous or reasonably civil PM is always responded to.

Again, please review those forum rules you agreed to.
