-”Hey John, lets all play something”

-”Sure thing, what do you have in mind”

-”How about some ESO?”

-”Well Mary and Eric are playing AD with their Khajiits, and Bob is playing EP with his gaming guild”

-”You know what? [censored] ESO. Lets play some Destiny”

-”That’s cool. You know the new LoL season started too!”

-”Awesome, let me call everyone. Log in, I will see you online!”

-”Yeah see you there. Btw I think I will cancel my ESO subscription, there are so many other things to do, it seems too much trouble”

-”Yeah me too. Its too many logistics problems will all those restrictions. besides there are so many other things we can all do together.”

-”ok logging on. see ya soon”

—————————————————————–

-”Hey Mike! I just talked to Pete and Lisa and they have started playing ESO also”

-”Awesome, we should play with them. We can help them level”

-”Oh I think they said they started as Argonians, Lisa really likes their lore”

-”Well we are AD so this is not going to work”

-”Hey lets all play something else”

-”Sounds good, let me give them a call”

While I tend to agree that ESO could have been a better game without races being restricted to certain factions, Zenimax did not do that and it is to late to change that now. So threads like this are really quite pointless because all it really does is cause problems in the forums...which is not really that cool.

If race restriction counts as a real issue, MMO's (and most video games in general) might not be you kind of game

Well, I'm glad this a legitimate complaint and not just trollbait.

I think this is the jist of it, they can't change it. I would rather have had a sandbox type game with much more freedom, races included. I think the alliance war is well complimented by a faction lock, so I think it moreso has to do with the direction of their game, not the faction lock mechanic itself.

Would I rather not have faction locks? Yes. Would I rather have a different direction of the game? Yes. We can discuss how much we want ESO to be a different game but it's still what it is, and it still looks fantastic.

I'm sure that rational advlts aren't going to quit a game they liked enough to subscribe just because they have to call a friend and tell them to "join this faction".

Pro-tip most advlts don't care what they play as. Proof? WoW and its factions. You know WoW, the most popular MMO ever?

Yeah. To think you came into this discussion with even a shred of validity is laughable when 14 million people are against you.

Wars are more fun than playing with friends, anyway.
