LoL vs HoN (League of Legends vs Heroes of Newerth)

Post » Sun May 13, 2012 11:46 pm

I like both these game, but lately been playing more Heroes due to many factors.

Heroes of Newerth

Pros
  • Realistic Graphics
  • One of Every Hero
  • In built Audio Chat
  • Guides Built Into Game
  • Couriers
  • Weather Effects
  • Day and Night Effects
  • Custom Announcer
  • Remake and Pause Game
  • Unobtrusive Voting Option.

Cons
  • Steep Learning Curve
  • Community
  • Items more Difficult to Learn
  • Pretty Unforgiving

League of Legends

Pros
  • More forgiving community
  • Heroes are buffed and nerfed sometimes
  • New Heroes Pretty Frequent
  • More Cartoony heroes
  • Runes and Masteries
  • Mechanics are a lot easier.
  • Lore.

Cons
  • More cartoony heroes (not everyone cup of tea)
  • Language Barrier (If on European Servers)
  • Buff and Nerfs pretty frequent.
  • Community can be just as bad.
  • Not much to do with IP/RP other than buy Champions and Runes.
  • Guides not built into game.
  • Cheap Items (meaning items that make it possible reverse a winning game)
  • Cheap Champions aka Yi.

I prefer the first one, for most of the pro, how do others feel about these and why?

Never played HoN but as for League I can say the community is not more forgiving in the least and every champion has recommended item builds and tips on how to play/counter them as well as videos on what their abilities do and how they look so I don't really think you cant say a guide isn't built into the game.

Maybe was unclear, basically in HoN you create the guides in the client and you can switch between them in game, which gives ya chance to experiment, if ya make ya own guide for instance can put it on and test it out. It shocks me LoL hasn't done this.
