I long for the days in the Clans

Post » Sun Feb 17, 2013 3:52 am

To fight side by side with fellow dwemer companions and automatons; to worship the gods of Reason and Logic; to spend long days in the smithy inventing, repairing and smithing; to feast on equisite culinary roasts in great stone halls deep away from the scorching grasp of a sun; to watch children play hide and seek with our snow elf servants...
How I long to live in those days!

A game set before the Battle Of Red Mountain would be exceedingly cool.

But I hope that it never happens and the Dwemer remain a mystery.

Time Travel seems unlikely and I hope the Dwemer don't return in any physical form, maybe more info and lore on them but I just hope they don't make a return.

If they return, I hope the old falmer return too so I can be one of them and send the dwemer's sorry asses back to oblivion.

I don't know. Being able to be back in those times would kind of ruin the magic surrounding the Falmer and Dwemer in my opinion. Their mystery is part of what makes them so special.

I think having a game set in the time might be cool, but I agree that the dwemer and falmer shouldn't resurface in a later era. Maybe play a game set in their era, then follow it with a crisis related to the dwemer legacy back in "present" time... but not involving their direct return.

I don't think they can return without butchering the lore (hardly as if that would stop Beth if they wanted to, but still).

As far as I understand, they either ascended to Godhood (CHIM) or they messed up and were all killed.
If it's the first, why come back? Nirn svcks in comparison to being able to think whatever you want into being.
If it's the second, well, no explanation is needed.

Disclaimer: I may be wrong, so take this with a (large) pinch of salt. More of a handful, actually, until someone can confirm.

Heck, maybe their ascension was temporary. Maybe they come back in a major DLC where you undo what they did to stop some ancient evil that they contained.
