No Longer Interested in Paying for Dawnguard

Post » Sat Nov 17, 2012 4:10 am

Hello, sorry for the moderately lengthy title but with the way Dawnguard has been handled, the whole exclusivity thing, I no longer have a desire to pay for Dawnguard. I thank you for all the excellent DLC I've had from your company in the past such as Broken Steele and the Big MT DLCs and the not so good yet still interesting DLCs such as Honest Hearts or Dead Money. I do not dispute the quality of your DLC but I do take great issue with this type of behavior.

I've seen 1 of the great three US Rpg makers, please do not go the way of Bioware. I look forward to future DLCs with no exclusivity.

I agree, it is an enjoyable and good DLC to start expanding the game with. The vampire lore is a bit out of order right now with many things that I had hope would have been explained, but that is about the only gripe I have with it.

Bethesda didn't make most of the ones you mentioned were good. Those were made by Obsidian, a company that can and does hire competant writers to have a coherent, good story.

Bethesda couldn't write itself out of a paper bag.

And you're not missing much, DG made my game so much worse with all the bugs. That's the only reason it's taking so long, they're trying to un-[censored]- their cluster [censored].

Quality control doesn't exist for them.

You can't if the base game is bought from steam.

I wish people who feel like this would just leave... If you really feel this way, why are you here? Do you like Justin Bieber? No, you don't? So can I assume you have an account on a Bieber fan site with 800+ posts?

Give me a fracking break dude :wallbash:

I'm a fan of their work, but it's gone WAY downhill with the travesty of quality control that is Skyrim, DG being the cheif offender. I've been buying their games for years and have never regretted a purchase til now and they're just dead quiet about it.

I'm seriously pissed off about this and strongly encourage others to wait until DG is patched or never buy it if it isn't.

Just because I think their stories svck doesn't mean the games aren't fun, but their writers has less imagination than a potato. Bethesda should do the tech (and hire about a thousand more testers) and Obsidian can just write everything for the rest of the games they publish.

Well that makes sense I guess. And I'll definitly wait to buy DG until i hear about its performance on PS3, if its full of horrible bugs ill wait. But thats still hard to judge becasue the only problem Ive ever had with Skyrim was the water bug, but I just deleted and re-installed the game data and it was fine. So it would have to be a total game breaking bug that basicly 100% of people experience. Because it seems that 95% of the complaing about the quality about thsi game, I never experienced. Also I too am frusterated about the handeling of info for this dlc too, but I wouldnt say im pissed. I dont really feel like ive been wronged, I just really love the game and want to play the dlc!

you may not want to hear the truth but that doesn't change it. Coming on the forums and proclaiming your not going to buy dlc anymore because of this or that is as about as meaningful as doing a scientific study as to why you suffer from the same brain rot as my wood elf that contracted it from the Skeever.

Yes Obsidian did indeed make 'Fallout: New Vegas' and the corresponding DLC, yet, your ignorance shows here, because Bethesda over saw the entire operation as well as funding and producing it. Making it essentially an Bethesda made game.

Yeah, right... And reacquiring the base game from the same source is not an option. Or is it?!
