Looking for a mod(s) to add depth

Post » Sun Nov 11, 2012 8:06 am

To start, this is NOT a Skyrim bashing thread.

Skyrim is a great game and yet it bores me most of the time. I don't know exactly what it is, but I do know there is just no element of reward for me. I had this same problem with oblivion, a big beautiful world but nothing that leaves me fulfilled, and because of that, no motivation to explore the world. Everything seems to be slashing and killing which is ok but when you get used to that it just feels like an empty game. Maybe it's my fault for not reading the in game books.

One thing that I'll point out is I've never been the kind to get excited over finding an ebony warhammer or something. Sure items like that give you power but I don't want power, I want a sense of achievement, that it wasnt just another dungeon with great equipment at the end. Now don't get all fired up when I say this, I'm only saying it because its true, but one of the things Morrowind did best was you were always feeling like you found something truly unique in the game; there were surprises everywhere.

So hopefully you guys have a few mods in mind. Thanks!

I agree with Interesting NPCs.

And Morrowloot looks like exactly what you're looking for.

Morrowloot is absolutely fantastic give it a try. Would love to see some updates though, just wish I knew how to have a go myself.

I think part of it is the game showing you exactly where everything is with markers. They aren't even quest's, there simple objectives. What is needed are the adventures that were in past games.

Soon, I will be releasing a mod that changes every quest with added directions, and removed quest markers. It will make use of my map mod (http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/25501), and references areas and locations on this map so you can navigate. The time you spent doing 10-15 quests in the original, can then be spent getting involved in 1 detailed adventure that actually involves your thinking. That is a real rewarding experience.
