Looking for a story based RPG (with some restrictions)

Seeing as I'm on break for quite a while, I'm looking for a good RPG that I can sink some time into. However, I can't seem to decide on what I want to play, or what I should play. I'd like an RPG on PC that is not party based, or at least on where that is not the main focus. I really dislike having to micro manage a bunch of other characters, and prefer to focus on mainly on one character. I'd also really like to have the RPG be heavily story driven with good characters and choices. Here are some of the RPGs I've already played and liked (my absolute favorites are in bold):

Arcanum
Deus Ex (all of them)
Fallout (all of them)
Anachronox
The Elder Scrolls (all of them, Morrowind being my favorite)
Arx Fatalis
Divinity 2: Dragon Knight Saga
Dark Souls (on console briefly, waiting for Steam sale hopefully)
Kingdoms of Amalur
The Witcher 1+2
KotOR 1+2
Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines
S.T.A.L.K.E.R. (all of them)
Alpha Protocol
Mass Effect 1+2 (never finished the second one)

I've also attempted to play these, but never made it very far:

Baldur's Gate 1+2 (never really understood the combat, and didn't really care for the party system)
Planescape: Torment (the ultimate story drive game, I know, but found it incredibly hard to get into. Also, didn't like the combat at all)

I've been thinking about playing Neverwinter Nights 2, though I have played it in the past but I couldn't get the hang of the DnD based combat. I saw http://www.gog.com/gamecard/inquisitor on GoG, which looks like it might be good, any opinions? As it stands right now, I'm at a bit of a loss on what i can play, and I'd rather not replay anything right now. As far as graphics and old games go, I'm generally fine with older games as long as I can get it running properly and can actually read the text. My favorite RPGs have always been ones where I can use dialogue to do cool things like getting out of combat and persuading people to do things. Basically, I'm just looking for your opinions on what I should play, that will hopefully satisfy my needs in an RPG, without the stereotypical Planescape and Baldur's Gate responses (unless you can convince me to play them, even though I dislike party games).
