Looks like I'll have to wait

Well, I've been waiting for a long time already, I guess I won't mind waiting a bit more till the pc user interface sees some major work by modders, Beth or me.

I don't want to bash Bethesda and so far, for the couple of hours that I played, I can say that it is probably going to be the best game in the series so far (for me at least). Everything feels great. Having said that, the new interface and way of navigating it just breaks it all. It is really bad, it is incredible. Of course, you can clearly see that it was made for a controller and not for the mouse and keyboard, but what I find the more annoying is the inconsistency of it. There are a couple of things that I just can't explain, was it a bug, a feature that I didn't understand? I really don't know, but it did get frustrating fast.

Anyway, I want the experience of my first playthrough to reach it's full potential, so I'll wait to see how this interface is implemented when the creation kit gets out. I think I remember a dev saying here that it is coded in actionscript, which would points out that it uses scaleform or something similar. If that is the case and we're allowed to modify it, I'll just do it myself. By then, there will probably have a texture pack available so the waiting will be beneficial for me, poor keyboard/mouse user.

/rant, back to bf3 for now.

If you articulate your specific issues, perhaps some of us can give tips to make it less painful.

How will you mod the UI if you never install? Waiting a little longer won't make a mod made by you be in the game, you'll have to get the game and mod it, right?

Also, if you've never done it, you really can't comment on how badly it breaks things for you. Really. You're assuming it makes things so horrible your teeth will explode, but you've never used it

It's a little odd, and it takes a time to get used to. Nothing heart-wrenching awful or vile about it, it's just not that great

Did you read my post or only its title?

Well, for one, there are some spells that I can equip, but I can't unequip them with the same button... To unequip them I need to equip another item. This is really odd as some of them works just fine. Also, the mouse wheel seems to work on certain occasion and sometimes it just doesn't work at all. Inconsistencies. You can't have a "section" of the interface that works with the mouse and other "sections" that doesn't. This is a really bad design.

As I said, I think the game looks phenomenal, but I think that its menu needs some major work before I can enjoy it completely. I don't mind waiting some more.
