So i was doing one of the side quests and my companion got stuck in this fire trap. I couldnt do anything, so i thought she would come with me once i left the place. Still no sign of her, tried to get a nother person to follow me, so my original housecarl would go back to her starting spot, but im unable to get a new companion because they say i already have one! help!

Have you tried fast traveling? Not sure how the companion AI is setup in this game but It probably has the teleport to player ability when you fast travel.

yaaa tried that. Went to my house in white run, had a sleep still nothing. Maybe ill look for a quest that guy automatically follows me and then maybe she will return.

Ugh, I actually skipped a part of your post, was it an actual fire TRAP or a fire pit (for light and warmth) if it was some kind of fire trap, then your companion is probably extra crispy.

companions wont die unless you hit them for the final time.

If said companion was taking constant fire damage, said companion would indeed die. Yes they go into the little cower mode but they can still be killed by NPC's, traps etc.

I dont think shes dead, because other NPC that can follow me are saying, i already have a companion.

The trap was one of those floor traps that when you stand over it, flames shoot up, the problem is, there was a dead corpse on it, and my companion was just kneeling down. I wasnt able to talk to here.

Let me know if you guys got any more ideas, ill let you know once i do a mission where i need to have a diff companion.
