Lost Housecarl (Lydina)

My Housecarl went missing i looked everywhere for her. I think i told her to wait somewhere but i forget where. In a future update can you place a icon where she/he is on the map. Or just make an option on the quests screen '' Housecarl '' and the quest icon points to him/her.

I doubt theyll change it but there is no radar for you follower. Same thing happened to me. I think she may have died and I didnt see it but I doubt it I usually checkj fo my followers after every battle and at least find the body. There has been talk of her mysteriously dropping dead which could be how I lost her. This is the second time I lost lydia. If you told her to wait somewhere she will respawn after 5 days. She will either be at dragonreach in whiterun or your breezehome if you own that in white run.

i think with the missing house carls its the same thing as delphene (sp). If you tell them to wait at a spot, and you leave them there too long they will head back to the house... however...

Delphene has a problem getting from point A to point B, and while we think that she's vanished from the game completely, she really hasn't and it may be the same case with the house carls, a good example of this is when she's leaving from the peace meeting with the grey beards to head back to the blades temple, she just seems to up and disapear, but in reality she didn't, rather she fell off the beaten path and down the hillside and is stuck on the rocks below, just standing there looking outward. Eventually (after many many hours of real time) she'll 'slip' off the mountain and find her way back to the temple.

The same thing can be happening with the followers, they do tend to get 'stuck' on things when they walk alot, I've had a follower get stuck in a kettle of all things (yes i said IN) and wouldn't move at all till i picked it up. Many times going through ruins the followers have just stopped at a doorway and stood there, and i've had to back track and 'bump' them a little to get them to pass through the doorway, like they got stuck on the outter wall. out in the open skyrim area, rocks.... there always getting stuck on rocks, they'll try to run a little to get past it, but then stop and just stand there.

So i wouldn't doubt if your follower attempted to head home and found themselves stuck on a cliff, or rock somewhere out in the vast space of skyrim. a little map locator would be nice, to show the current position of your follower.

I vote this. It would solve a lot of problems where your follower gets lost or vanishes, and you cannot dismiss them. At least then you will be able to find them and determine what has happened to them. It also gives the player the opportunity to attempt to solve problems, such as if the follower is stuck in scenery, etc. Please add this for patch 1.5!!!!!!!

This has happned to me before. I solved it by fast traveling. When you fast travel the housecarl should appear next you to. But I don't know if fast traveling would help if you asked him/her to wait in a specific spot or if the housecarl is dead (Housecarls can die easily without you noticing). If the individual were stuck somewhere fast traveling should fix the missing housecarl problem from what i've noticed.

if you told them to wait they wont follow you on fast travel, and if your too far ahead of your follower and you fast travel your follower will be left behind. I've had this happen before. you can also lose your henchman in a ruin, if they get stuck on something and travel to the next area, your henchman wont follow you either. These are the instances i've had with followers. I was happy when i got Illia as a permanent follower that i could dismiss and aquire because she doesn't get stuck on things as much as the others seem to.

if you fast travel you may get your follower back IF your follower is outside.

if your follower is inside waiting....they will remain where they are.
