Why, why would the fact that developers are making the game for consoles matter at all to you?

Yes, I am totally ok with you leaving.

But seriously: There are enough threads about that.

Good facts:

different servers (so maybe no problems with updates)

different ui (so no dumbing down for PC-Players)

And still they said many times: consoles are ADDitional platforms, main

focus is still on PC.

Servers are seperate so its not a big deal. Nick Konckle said that the delay for PC was to polish it up so if thats actually true im down with a delay.

I have a question. Why are you so mad that the game is being made for console? If you think that because it's going to console that means the game is going to be "dumb down" to help console players, Paul Sage came out yesterday saying that they are making the UI and gameplay for the PC just for the PC. It won't be like it was with Skyrim where it was basically a console port over to the PC, it is a PC port over to the consoles. The game has been in development for PCs for the past 5 years, they aren't going to change anything now.

Probaby because its been months since we've had a topic that had to be brought up in every single thread, no matter what the original topic was. Not since the days of "no first-person view" or "elves are too pretty" have we had a topic that could bring out the complainers and whiners in droves.

I used to be like you.

But, then I saw that the developers were great in their reasoning, they said that the consoles will have different UI's and combat mechanics, the PC won't be changed which they said in multiple ways, and they also spoke about the separate megaservers, but hey.

Who am I kidding?

I'll see you at launch!

Furious? If they have to change the game because of it coming to consoles then thats great! I don't mind not having the generic fantasy mmo #255 even a console game turned in to an mmo is much more interesting. But it doesn't mean that it will be a mmo console game. It looks really "streamlined" already so they might not have to change too many things and it's still just an mmo but this time with smaller ui and more actiony combat

The only thing I am worried about is having to buy this game on both PC and Console (which i tend to do with ES games anyway), so I can play with different groups of friends. It won't be like PS2 Everquest. I understand why this worries the PC side of me, but I am excited to get to play a MMO with my console friends! So, yeah I am going to get both ports.

I'll admit that the combination of a list inventory and the announcement that the game would also be released on console, definitely lowered my excitement. That said, the letdown doesn't affect my desire to explore the world and extract any available lore nuggets--and by the time I've done that my precise excitement level in June 2013 won't signify much. I don't know your reasons for following the game, but I wouldn't base a decision on whether to give it a try on something external like plans to issue a console version.

x platform always makes the game worse.

  • dumbed down UI
  • split community
  • devs have to focus developer time on 2 platforms, not one.

Theres alot of reason not to like their decision.

All the last ES games have been cross platform and the only downside I found was having to wait longer to get dawnguard on my PC then it did on my xbox. the UI in ES has always been "dumbed down" the simplicity of it is what makes it so good. The Console community and the PC community are already split. And Bethesda has lots of experience developing for cross platform games. If anyone can do it, and do it well, it is ESO.
