Lost Pets

I've lived with multiple animals all my life, to the point that they no-longer hold any fascination with me (unlike my cousin when he visists); that being said we we're all deeply saddened when one day in Summer - just after moving house - we let one of our more outdoor-prone cats, Mishka, out one night... she never came back. I was therefore taken much aback when my mother texted me last month, simply saying "Mishka's been found." I was truly in shock, partly because it was closer to 10 miles away from where we lived but mostly because it had been six years.

She'd been living as a stray we've been led to believe, someone had eventually been feeding her regularly only to capture her and take her to the vets after she noticed Mishi was getting thin; turns out she's got a tumour in her stomach and so I fear that she's not long destined for this world. That being said we're so glad to have her back after-all this time and though she wants to be outside (we're not letting her :P) we're going to give her as much comfort as possible in her final days - she's 11 now, sleeping and sitting with me for a-long time (as she was previously rather unsocialable).

Anyone else having any missing pet miracles or stories?

This made me sniffle a little bit. Seriously. That's amazing.

We had to put our seventeen year-old cat down just half a year ago. Having been part of the family since I was five years old, I cried damn near constantly every single day during the week leading up to that day. He's buried in our back yard now. Not much of a story or a miracle, I guess, but it was a really significant moment in my life. It's the one thing that made me finally realize that my childhood is gone, and all that remains now are memories.
