Lots of CTDs in a fully furnitured Lakeview Manor fix

Post » Thu Nov 15, 2012 11:43 pm

I've only suffered from CTDs in Skyrim at one place, and that was while being inside my fully furnitured Lakeview Manor (kitchen, greenhouse and trophy room).

Fortunately I managed to fix this by removing all the Carpenter's Workbenches in the house, so no more CTDs in the house anymore either!

Just figured I put up a thread regarding this here, if someone else start to suffer and wonder why their Lakeview Manor start to crash so much after filling it with furniture :P

Likely the same problem that is causing 360 users to freeze up in the same area.

Yep, the upshot of the last month's worth of troubleshooting posts on 360: Only have active the bench that you need at the moment.

Okay, so I get CTDs in Winstad manor, and although removing the workbenches seems to have improved the situation, I seem to have a problem with the greenhouse area. I only have problems in the house that has the greenhouse, and it seems to happen whenever I enter the greenhouse. I don't know how to remove the greenhouse.

EDIT: I should add that in my other houses, I have workbenches out everywhere with no CTD. In the problem house, I also have a trophy room, which I have in another house without a CTD; and I have the armory, which I don't have in any other house. Thanks guys.

I had constant CTD after not visiting my Windstad home for a while. Before I had left I do remember asking my steward to perform some work while I was gone.

I removed all the work benches and the issue corrected itself. And the steward upon inspection of my home, seemed to have performed all the tasks I had asked for.

I did not remove all workbenches. Was getting the same problem constant CTDs. This one thread said change your load order. I took the data file load order changed to have the High Resolution text mods load one-two, Dawnguard load third then Hearthfire forth no more CTDs.

I know this seems kinda dumb but the load order is how i fixed my game. I have hearthfire as number 3 in load order. But, I have all the unofficial patches last in order. hope this helps.

removing all workbenches solved my problem
and created lots of free space 8D

now I only enable one at a time when building something and disable it immediately when I'm done
