Lucky 38 elevator unaccessable

Post » Mon Jan 10, 2011 1:50 pm

I didn't see this one reported in the first few pages, so I thought I would mention it, because in my mind, it's ANOTHER gamebreaker - I'm not sure exactly when it happened, but after being given "the house always wins" parts 1 and 2, I did a great deal of side quests to level up.

When I returned my attention to the main mission, which I planned to do by either siding with Mr House or Yes Man, I found that I can't use the elevator in the Lucky 38. Victor simply clicks when I try and select the option to talk to him beside the elevator on the casino level, as if he were an inanimate object or a locked door, and clicking on the elevator itself does nothing. I have been told that you can kill Victor and take the elevator, but that completely bones me out of siding with House, as I will immediately fail the house always wins. Furthermore, I have 4 possible companions up there I would like access to.

Killing Victor pretty much makes this impossible to do anything BUT kill house, or else have all of Vegas's Securitrons hostile to me always, does it not?

Does anyone know of another fix? I decided to try and play through "The house always wins" and go get the chip to see if that will trigger a new dialogue option and allow me up there, but I'm not holding out too much hope.

Plus, if I kill Victor, I won't be able to sell the three snowglobes in my inventory to Jane....this is a pickle, I'm surprised people aren't talking about it more. Help me out if anyone knows of a fix! and someone please add it to a major list of bugs, cause it's pretty aggravating to play a good 50 hours of sidequests and get to level 27 only to find out you've lost the choice of what path to take the main mission down without doing anything to ruin it.
