She was sworn to carry your burdens. I guess too much burden slowed her down and that gave them a chance to take her.

Great so every time you have to rescue your spouse, the follower encumberance bug will add a bunch more weight to em each time you recruit.

They can probably be kidnapped even while being your follower right?

Yep, the vampires will probably massacre your spouse as well eventually, and this is probably a radiant, recurring event that can happen as many times as fifty times in three days time. Here I go waiting for more mods (I play on PC, BTW) to let me play this game with some level of insanity again! Of course I have no idea what I'm talking about, but I'm probably right again, though. There was technically supposed to be stuff like this in vanilla, but it never actually got implemented. Until now, of course. BTW, can NPCs kill other NPCs with the protected flag checked?

Watch, they probably have the quest scripted to set essential to false as well, so even THAT won't work. :swear:

Wait... Vampires will kidnap people when they attack a town or village? Haven't gotten to play much of Dawnguard so I am not largely far. (Just now killing the keepers in the Soul Cairn(

Well I'll point out that I am not necessarily against the idea if it is implemented well, but I don't want it to be something where it happens on a constant basis, with a high probability that they WILL kill your spouse. High probability meaning killed about 99% of the time, or even 50% of the time. I don't want the game killing random NPCs just because it feels like it unless I want it to do that. I like having the chance to save NPCs from an untimely death.

Well. It's not said how they kidnap them. It's just a radiant quest saying they did and you have to go save them.
