Okay, so I'm on the Companions quest where when I decided I didn't want to be in the Companions. So I told Farkas I'd meet him at wherever you have to go (can't remember the name, sorry), and left. I went to Whiterun, and now Lydia won't come with me because "I have someone with me." Do I have to complete the quest before she can join me? Or is there a console-command quickfix?

But you are correct. You can only have one active follower, and right now the game thinks that if Farkas.

It is a blessing indeed. That stupid woman looks ugly and her armour makes her look like a toy from the kids compartment.

All you have to do is explore one dungeon with him. And you get a cool cutscene to boot. So it's not the end of the world.
