I made a video of a video problem I have with FNV

I have a problem with my screen when playing Fallout New Vegas. I decided a video was worth many thousands of words, so I uploaded one of the problem happening:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_peH-pZjjHc

The specific description is included with the video. But the short version is that my screen turns off randomly for several seconds while I am playing FNV, and never outside the game. Am I the only one this is happening to? Are there any suggestions or solutions known?

My machine is running XP SP3, it is an Intel Cure 2 Quad at 2.4gz with 2GB of ram. I am running the game on a NVIDIA GeForce GTX 460. With a ViewSonic VP2130b monitor. I play the game at 1600x1200 with all video options maximum.

2 suggestions:

1. Have you tried playing the game with only 1 monitor connected? if the problem persists, try changing the monitor, to rule out that the problem is with your monitor and also try changing the output socket.
2. Overheating problem? But since the other monitor is fine (I assume it is connected to teh same computer), this is not likely.

I noticed you Monitor/or monitor's are viewsonic in the vidoe and the screen going out on them is a comon thing when a Cap goes bad in the power supply to them. You can look it up on the web, I had the same problem with my viewsonic Vx922 moniter had a tech store replace the bad Cap's with high heat caps and it work fine since I got it fixed.

If you're using the replacement dll (and lets face it - most ppl are) in the readme it warns that some ppl get crashes with dual monitors.
Rename that file *.bak so it doesnt run and see if that helps.
