So, my new character is going to be a mage, most probably Breton or so. I don't quite plan on a pure mage though, sort of odd when I think of it, but sort of cool on the other hand ... What do you think ? Got a mage char yourself ? Is conjuration good enough to replace a sword ? Never really been into Conjuration in any TES before ... *Shrugs*

Any ideas on a last resort sort of plan when things go melee ? Dagger ? Axe ? I don't want the character to be too melee oriented.

I play a mage, but I often will equip a one-hander so that I have a vehicle for poison. Smack something with an aversion to fire poisoned weapon, then cut loose with the fire spells. I only put on the melee weapon when something gets up in my face though.

That's the plan, I suppose. I imagine is quite strange having a mage pulling a sword though, hm.
