Magic Abilities a bit too strong?

Post » Fri Oct 12, 2012 7:38 am

Here is my take on the game so far. Its a lot of fun, the game does give you the tools to make you feel pretty badass and the world is interesting enough to make the game enjoyable. However i must admit, the game does become easier and easier the more abilities you unlock. I just feel like they are too strong.

Blinking is way too powerful of a tool. It just really comes down to finding that ledge for your next jump and your skipping mins of carefully moving through enemy lines. Possession is insanely good, I mean.. Its pretty self explanatory. Get in trouble? Time Stop and easily deal with the problem.

I know all of this is optional. Although it saddens me a bit that in order to challenge myself i need to not use a lot of the game mechanics.

At E3, they said that game breaking abilities, was the whole point of the game. That it was supposed to be like that. to just try different and new and fun things and to experiment. Potentially game breaking abilities were intentional, because that's what the game is supposed to be.

Ive been playing on normal and even with all those powers I still have a hard time sometimes, If your playing on easy then I imagine it's not hard at all.

Yeah, the whole point of the game is the be cheap :) There is a certain satisfaction to that. Balanced gameplay can be boring sometimes and we have so many games with it already. There is always Very Hard difficulty if you want a challenge, pretty easy to die then

I am playing on Very Hard, and yes i agree that its fun non-the-less despite how overpowered you are because that's what helps you feel like a badass, It just happens to make the game very easy in the end, which i guess its alright because not every enjoyable game has to be a hard experience.

I definitely like the idea behind it, but realizing that it's a good idea to posses someone if you ever get caught is hardly a challenge to figure out. I was hoping this kind of stuff wouldn't be so self-explanatory. I mean, it's not like you'd get that "oh yeah!" moment if you ever realize that you could do that.
