No Magic Playstyle #2

During my absence and after a http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DWLBxQ25QBo I had posted, to show that a player can be just fine with a pure warrior, it became apparent that the original thread starter still has doubts and also considers usage of enchanted weapons at low levels, as metagaming. I was also indirectly "accused" of reloading the same save to get the fire enchantment i was "supposedly" after.

The interesting part, came shortly after, as a challenge was also put on the table: Kill that particular Frost Troll, with plain weapons. Unfortunately, I didn't have the opportunity to answer to the original thread, since it reached the post limit. So, I took the liberty to start this one and post my answer:

I always keep hard savegames and can revert to them at any time. So, I present to all of you, the same level 7 Redguard Warrior, killing the very same Frost Troll, http://youtu.be/EFf69e48uug.

The key, wasn't the enchantment -it never was. It has always been to hit hard, stagger as often as you can, let your follower take a few hits (switch aggro is the short term) and manage your health potion consumption, so that you don't run out.

Nah, I just picked that particular set because it's the first complete armor set you get out with from Helgen. It's also worse than steel and this raises the difficulty bar a little bit ;)

The game isn't balanced around master anyway.

Up close and personal I'd be dead -that simple. I'd have to go for higher ground and resort to a bow. Fire enchantment would become a necessity -and the whole thing would propably mean lots of iron arrows

There's also the way of going in and out all the time -requires good timing though.

Not that I don't believe it's possible, but simply because I can't do it. I need frost bite venom at the very least, this is at starting lvl too, mind you.

I imagine somehow the thread starter will still be unconvinced. Despite your rather awesome display.

I don't know how many reloads until you get that resault

1. look at Lydia, she down twice (lucky that the game not allowing follower to die)

2. you almost get killed but saved by potions, i don't know how you get past other monsters

3. you are prepared for that particular battle, you manage to do it doesn't prove any point

4. the troll is not the issue, if you really want to take up my challenge, i have many challenges in my original thread, such as defeating the boss in ruin (i don't remember the name of the ruin and the boss) in the quest of Ceremonial Weapons north east of Whiterun at level 5-10, Dragon Priest, bears, saber lion....ect

5. you only manage to satisfy your ego, that is all

If you don't reload many times to get that result, you are just lucky
