Main Quest Ending? : V

OK, I finally did final part the Main Quest after just playing this avoiding the MQ for hundreds of hours.

I went to 'heaven' and joined up with the three Nords who fought against Alduin in the past age. We defeated him and then I was warned to leave the area so after a bit of a wander, I did. Nothing seems changed in the game for having done this. There are still dragons, They still attack me. Is there some final act I've missed? Seems to me to be amazingly inconclusive. Like in OB, there was a change in the world after the final act (planes no longer a threat). Is that all there is?

Alduin riased hundreds, possibly thousands, of dragons, his death wouldnt just cause all of them to die.

You saved the world, and Parth and the other Dragons, if Parth is still alive, acknowleged your deeds.

Life goes on.

No change. You are basically done. I thought the the ending also lacked .... "epicness". There are no rewards and dragons keep appearing. Massive buzzkill.

No, I croaked Paarthy but now regret it. I expect some pay off from the Blades. What a non-ending.

Your goal in the game was to deal with the dragon menace that infects the land. It's just a goal that can never be met.
