Well, i started a new character a while ago and i'm playing in a "slow paced style". So now after talking with Master Argneir, i need to go to the College and find out if someone knows anything about the Elder Scrolls, thing is, i don't want to start any quest related to the College. Is there any way to not start any College Quest after i speak with that annoying Altmer Faralda that doesn't let me into the College ?


I play on PC, so if there is no "vanilla sollution", i could use a mod that helps me out in this situation. Any thoughts ?

You'll have to unimmersively somehow make it into the Arcanaeum and talk to Urag while avoiding Faralda and therefore triggering the College quests. Pick your poison...

1) Open console, type coc WinterholdCollegeArcanaeum
2) Enter through the hidden back entrance which leads into The Midden and eventually into the College
3) Alternatively, run straight for Septimus' Outpost.

There's no other way

If it won't break immersion for you, you can go straight to the person that actually knows how to get the Scroll.

Well, if you talk to Faralda, you'll automatically start the college questline. You could do that and just not proceed further in the college quests (i.e. go talk to Urag and just leave), or if you don't want your questlog burdened with quests you don't intend to do, you could just *pretend* you went to the college, and go talk to Septimus directly, bypassing the college.

I'm on console, so I'm not familiar with any mods that might help you.
