**MAJOR CTD Saving Issue**

Post » Thu Nov 15, 2012 5:46 pm

I am having a major crash issue, currently I am located in Lost Valley Redoubt, I cannot get out of this location or advance further through the location. What is happening is everytime I autosave or manually save I get an immediate CTD. I can't fast travel, enter a load screen, or check my items menu because these all trigger autosave and it will immediately crash.

what I have done, is tried running the game through the Steam launcher and this does not work.

I have deleted my .ini file and had Steam create a new one for me, this did not work.

I have deleted over 150 old save files, this did not work.

I have downloaded and installed the new version of SKSE 1.5.11, this did not work.

I really have no idea what to do, I figure by now I would be able to find a way to get through this problem, it has been over 24 hours and I am still having the same issue with my game, I really need some immediate help! I do not know if its Dawnguard related, Patch related, mod related, PC setup related, SKSE related, or Steam related

PLEASE HELP!

I'm not sure, but you may be having some problems with savegame bloat - I had a similar issue (inability to use inventory, quicksave/fast travel, as well as random freezing on occasion) because my savefiles had reached 25-30MB. You say you've got mods installed - there are quite a few mods which are known to cause savegame bloat and tacking a mod list on to your post might be helpful.

whats the best way to post my mod list?

I just looked at my Save files, most are about 9000kb in size and most are ess files, but my last about 6 saves have been tmp files and are only 256kb

I have some BAK files also but they were the normal 9000kb size, is all of this odd?

Might be a problem with your actual hard drive. Run checkdisk on it and maybe defrag it afterwards.

My C drive was 13% fragmented so i am defragging this now,

I just looked at all my saves in wrye bash, they are all highlighted orange, except my very first save which is green, but all my recent saves are orange, and as I mentioned I deleted like 80% of my 250+ saves. being highlighted orange really makes me nervous

I desperately need help with this is there anything else that I can do?

I decided to looking into the Skyrim Community Uncapper as I have that installed, the description on the mod page says to make sure that SKSE has been installed before the uncapper, since I have uploaded two new versions of SKSE and not sure if I have unistalled the uncapper before installing either version, I decided to unistall both SKSE and the uncapper, I then installed the newest version of SKSE first, and then went into the .ini file for the uncapper removed the autoupdate feature because he said sometimes that can cause issues, I then installed the uncapper using wrye bash and I got this message that popped up:
