Major enchanting bug

I have come across an odd thing with my enchanted weapon, and I wonder if anyone else has similar experiences.

Ive never had any trouble with enchanting gear.
I used unechanted weapons until about level 50 when I got 100 enchanting and the perk for two effects.
Then I made a daedric legendary sword and put absorb health, 5hp on strike and soultrap 1 sec. on it.

After a while I noticed the weapon did not use any charges.
So I made a blade that had 20hp absorb on strike, soultrap 1 sec.
Same results.

The enchantments work. I get replenished health and I trap souls.
But no charges are used. The enchantment bar is always full, I cant use souls on my weapon and during a fight the enchantment bar that my game manual tells me is above my health bar never appears.

It may seem handy to have an everlasting enchanted weapon, but I really miss little things like repairing my armour and trapping souls to keep my weapon powerful was something I was looking forward to.

So now I have an inventory full of petty to common souls, and nothing to use it on :/

Has anyone had the same bug?
Is there a fix?

Has no-one else encountered this bug?

Im just not using any charges of my weapon, while the enchantments do work.

I do believe I have seen others players mention this glitch. Can't confirm it myself, still at 90 for enchanting.

But, how is this a problem? Never recharge a weapon, sounds good to me.

Yes never recharging sounds great, but now he has useless sould gems that he can't use now. :(

wow that is an awesome and overpowered glitch lol. I am still trying to get my enchanting to 100, though maybe its caused by the two enchantment perk? do you have a save game before you chose this perk, or possibly another character with almost 100 enchanting so you get it to 100 then don;t get the perk and see if it still has this issue.

You could use those "useless gems" to enchanted random item's (or possibly a surplus of iron daggers) and sell them, or enchant the gear of every follower you have. Or just for fun begin dropping them everywhere you go like a trail of breadcrumbs.....

It may seem like a handy glitch, but I dont like it :(

I had this whole roleplay worked out where my enchanted daedric sword with absorb health and soul trap was actually an artifact weapon.
Called Azura's Paladin, and intended to be used together with the Star.
The idea was that every time the Star absorbed a soul and was cleansed from it, was like a prayer unto Azura.
The continuous use of the Star makes her stronger, like water on a prayer wheel.

And now that part of my roleplay is defunct :(
