I continually get lock ups when im outside exploring. usually they are short but twice i have had to hard reset my pc as the freeze never finished.
its really ruining the experience for me.

im running winxp 32bit, e7300, gtx460, 3.5gb ddr2, xfi extreme music. onboard sound disabled in bios, latest dx9

any help much appreciated.

I'm on win xp 32 bit with a gtx 460 as well, and am getting the same problem. Doesn't happen inside just outdoor/exteriors. I'm running on the latest xp 32 bit driver 285.58 and it doesn't matter what my video settings are (with or without AA, low or high). Most pauses are between 5 and 15 seconds but I'v had two that locked up the machine. It hasn't happened in combat, just as I'm traveling overland (cell boundry like in fallout?). Not a deal breaker but annoying for sure....

EDIT: Ooops don't know how I missed this, but we should be posting in http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1264003-2-7-second-freezes-outdoors/, it looks like a lot of people are having the same p roblem.
